CALL FOR PAPERS
ANOTHER PEEK AT THE NEIGHBOURS’ GRASS
New social and economic history research in Belgium and the Netherlands
Workshop Friday 19 February 2021 VUB Brussels
Under the auspices of the N.W. Posthumus Institute and Research Team HOST (VUB)
Extended deadline – 15 November
Following the lively and successful workshop two years ago, we organize another one with the same intention: meeting our neighbours from a country so close, so different from ours and in many ways so little known. Much has happened in the meantime, new projects started, PhDs finished, that particular paper done at last. High time to take stock of work in progress and recently finished research in both countries.
For this purpose, Research team HOST (Vrije Universiteit Brussel) and the N.W. Posthumus network Economy and Society of the Pre-Industrial Low Countries in a Comparative Perspective jointly organize a workshop on Friday 19 February 2021.
We invite everyone who wants to present recent research about the social and economic history of the Netherlands and Belgium to submit an abstract before the 15th of November 2020 to firstname.lastname@example.org. Participants just wanting to attend without presenting are admitted on a first come, first served basis and space permitting. Further practical information will be given no later than 15 January 2021.
Registration for the workshop is free and catering will be provided, but participants need to pay for transport and accommodation, if any. However, if any Covid-19 measures would make travel and a physical meeting more difficult, the event will continue online.
