HOST researchers interviewed by BRUZZ

PhD Fellows Ayfer Erkul and Dennis De Vriese present their respective research in an interview taken by Brussels newspaper BRUZZ. While Erkul delves into the archives to study the interaction between migrants and the Brussels policemen at the close of the 19th century, De Vriese assesses the Brussels meat market between 1770-1860. Both HOST researchers state that historical research into Brussels is essential, not only because of its importance in Belgian history and as the capital of Europe, but also because it could defy clichés or confirm persisting myths.
